Your Farmers
Meet your farmers
Total nerds about plants, animals, medicine, Star Trek...wait...pretty much everything, really.
Stephanie Lamoureux
Stephanie takes care of the day to day operations of the farmstead (including this website, hi!). I grew up in and around Portage la Prairie, tromping through forests and creeks, and spent my teenage years out in the pasture with the cows. I attended the University of Manitoba, where I graduated with a Bachelors in Nursing, then a Masters in Nursing. I enjoyed working in a variety of nursing roles as a nurse and a Clinical Nurse Specialist, before moving out to Pine Falls to be with Jesse. I am currently the Regional Skin Integrity and Wound Care Coordinator for the IERHA, a job I love. I am excited to flex some different muscles (literally and figuratively!) as we seek to expand our farmstead and produce the highest quality food to continue to support the health of our community in a different way.
I currently play the double bass (poorly), the mandolin (also poorly), the guitar (slightly less poorly), the ukelele (not terribly), and the trumpet and tuba (pretty well, actually).
Jesse Lamoureux
Jesse does the heavy lifting around the property for Stephanie, and takes care of the yard and equipment maintenance. He is also an amazing cook! Jesse was born in Pine Falls, and spent his childhood moving around before ending up right back in Pine Falls. Jesse also has both Bachelors and Masters degrees in Nursing from the University of Manitoba, and dedicated years of practice to the oncology ward at Health Sciences Centre in Winnipeg. After obtaining his Masters Degree, Jesse moved back out to Pine Falls to serve his home community as a Nurse Practitioner for the Primary Care Program. Jesse has always felt a strong connection to his Métis heritage, and gains a lot of satisfaction from learning about traditional methods of food production.
He also plays the fiddle and the banjo, and enjoys playing music with Stephanie in the evenings (even though he is MUCH better at it than I am!)
